Random Password Generator
Create strong random passwords instantly. Generation happens entirely in your browser using the Web Crypto API.

Why use a random password?
Passwords based on names, dates, keyboard patterns, or familiar phrases can be easier to guess than they appear. A randomly generated password removes those human patterns and makes the result much harder to predict.
For accounts that support a password manager, longer randomly generated passwords are a practical default. If you want to compare other formats or generation approaches, GenerateMyPassword.com offers additional choices.
How MyPWD generates passwords
MyPWD uses your browser's built-in crypto.getRandomValues() API. Character selection uses rejection sampling so every eligible character has an equal chance of being selected. MyPWD does not use Math.random() for password generation.
The generated password stays in your browser. There is no account, no server-side password generation, and no password database behind this page.
Random passwords vs. memorable passphrases
Random character passwords work especially well when a password manager will store and fill them for you. Passphrases can be more convenient when you need to type or remember a secret manually. The right choice depends on the account and how you plan to use the credential.
If you are comparing different password generator options, consider both usability and the security requirements of the service you are protecting.

Frequently asked questions
Are passwords generated by MyPWD sent to a server?
No. Password generation occurs locally in your browser. MyPWD does not need to receive the generated password.
What makes a strong password?
Length, randomness, and uniqueness all matter. A strong password should not be reused on another account and should not be based on predictable personal information.
Should I include symbols and numbers?
Using several character types expands the available character set. For most accounts, a long password with a broad character set is a solid choice, provided the site accepts those characters.
What are ambiguous characters?
Characters such as lowercase l, uppercase I, uppercase O, and zero can be difficult to distinguish visually. You can exclude them when a password may need to be typed manually.
